Whisky on Tour

For the past few months Ian has hauled his camera, a bag of lenses, a couple of tripods, his wife Elaine, their dog Kobi… and a bottle of Old Pulteney whisky around some of the most beautiful areas of Scotland (and London) where he has photographed it against some very spectacular natural backdrops.
The photos are then printed and framed, but this is where it gets interesting. The frames are made using the recycled wood from the lids of whisky barrels, meaning that the wood used is coming from an ethical and sustainable source. It’s quite amazing when you think about it, the wood has travelled around the world as part of barrels filled with various alcoholic drinks including; wine, sherry, and port before arriving in Scotland to flavour malt whisky as it matures. Then, in Ian’s case, it’s used to frame photos of the product it yields! Brilliant!
The photo above is my attempt at taking a photo of Ian’s stravaigin bottle… but Ian’s photos are better than my attempt, check them out on his Whisky on Tour Facebook page.
