Staff Photos

Staff photos are an event often responsible for striking fear into almost all employees, with the exception of people who love being in front of cameras. On Tuesday I found myself on the right side of the camera – the right side of the camera in my mind is the side with the viewfinder!

A big part of portrait photography is getting people to behave naturally (albeit posed) in front of the camera, and I believe it is possibly one of the most challenging tasks for the photographer. However, I couldn’t believe my luck when my colleagues started pulling the following poses out the bag for me:

The setup

The setup for these shots couldn’t have been more basic. One Lastolite Ezybox Hotshoe 54 x 54 cm softbox camera left on a boom, and one Speedlite at full power behind the subject with a ExpoImaging Rogue FlashBender attached, and pointing at the white wall.

A fun day at the office!
