The Caithness coast is a fairly impressive sight for many people visiting the county, and I’m lucky enough to live here and be able to take photos of it whenever I feel like it. Always think it looks nicer with a blue sky though.
Coming from Caithness it’s always amazing to visit the north coast of Sutherland. The beaches are mostly empty and the water has a more mediterranean look to them. I believe the sandy bed of the sea reflects more light from the sky to cause these beautiful colours, whereas …

A lovely day out along the north and west coast of Scotland. Although the wind was strong we managed to get some lovely skies and reflections at Sangobeg Beach.
Driving to Durness and passing Sangobeg Bay you can’t help but notice this massive boulder atop a small hill.
